up and down
This issue highlights buildings from Uptown and downtown. While in the Loop check out Philip Johnson's only work in Chicago, 190 South LaSalle. It looks like he did his homework on this one. The building's top is a postmodern reference to Burnham's Masonic Temple Building that once stood at Randolph and State.

Although in slight decay, 1100 West Leland has one of the finest terra-cotta facades in all of Uptown. Let's hope this beauty makes it through the current wave of gentrification. Also check out the Uptown Bank Building, perhaps the neighborhood's most recognizable skyscraper.
